Yakima Kingjoe Pro 3 and Mazda 3 sedan

Postby fergy1987 » Sat Feb 10, 2018 4:49 pm

Hey everyone.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these Yakima Kingjoe Pro trunk racks. I just picked one up and put it on but noticed prior to putting the bike on the straps seem quite loose even when I pull them really hard.
Does anyone know if the straps are meant to have a little slack prior to loading the bike?
I took it for a little spin and it didn't seem to move but I just worry the hooks are going to come out.
Also has anyone loaded one on a Mazda 3 around 2010 model that can tell me where the pads should go. I measured the 51cm suggested in the manual but wondering if the top pad should be up high or the lower pad should be close to the bumper. The instructions aren't the best. Or I'm just bad at understanding them.

Cheers everyone...sorry for the long winded post.
