Dunc Gray Velodrome
Postby mdtrackcyclist » Thu Mar 01, 2018 2:57 am
I am traveling to Sydney from US and will be in town on a Saturday. How would I get to ride the Velodrome in Sydney? Who would be the point of contact to get track time and possibly a rental bike??

As far as I know the track isn't open on the weekend, except by special appointment / expensive hire arrangement and the NSWIS squad who have regular training sessions there. There are no staff on site to open/close the venue, hence the need for special arrangement. It's likely to be very quiet though since all the track championships have recently finished or are about to (Masters Champs in Melbourne at the moment).

You can hire it for a private session but its rather expensive.
If your in Sydney Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday there is club training at various velodromes in the evenings

If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

There used to be "Try the track" sessions at DGV:

Booking it separately is costly, and it's difficult to get a booking some times. When I last did it there was confusion between booking it with the local sports club or CNSW.

Does LACC have Friday night racing, or has it finished for the season?
