I've have recently got a road bike, normally I fix them up and the try to resell them but this one I like only problem is the size.
I'm 185cm and the bike is 47cm.
How much would the smaller size affect riding it

Sounds way too small. Of course you can ride it, but after any decent amount of time your body will start complaining.
I’m about 181 and ride large and xl bikes. 47 is likely to be xs, so a long way from ideal.

You're setting yourself up for over use injury. Don't do it.
