It felt like two years. Bad deal all around. The V Line yards had just closed, along with the Psych hospital which put all of the in patients out into an unprepared community. The two secondary colleges were being merged into one, so the town had been gutted just before we arrived. As a Melbourne based Civil crew working for a Melbourne based builder to upgrade the college that was surviving. If it wasn't out of work locals giving us the evil eye it was the "wobblies"... the towns affectionate name for the released psych patients. So I'm probably biased.....
