Tray back ute transport

Postby Winged_shoes » Sat Nov 03, 2018 1:28 pm

Hey,

Can the tailgate pads be used in tray back utes, like a Hilux? It isn't a style side, so isn't that deep. I can only find examples of them being used on style-sides, not aluminium trays.

Thanks,
WS

Height of the rear tailgate is probably the main consideration. I'd suggest it's likely yes, but don't have direct experience as I use roof mounted racks on my Subaru Grovel erm, Levorg.

I would say no unless your traysides are very long. I wouldn't do it on mine.

Might be better off making a crank arm attachment like they do on shuttle trailers.

Yeah i wouldnt like to use one on a tray back, look at some other way of carriage or bikes, maybe some C channel on the tray with crank holders?
