ok fans of HTFU Here we have a doozy Jenolan Caves and return, 300+ km and 4000m climbing.
Meet Point: Bubbler on the m7 cycleway Time: 5.30am When: Sat 5th November Goal: Ride our human powered bicycles to Jenolan Caves and return Stop Points: When we feel like it How Fast: Steadish pace Who can come: If you havent done atleast a 200km ride and survived then this isnt the ride for you
from the bubbler to Jenolan caves its 140km so 280 return. Add whatever distance you need to get to the bubbler (if your soft you may wish to drive and park your vehicle near by) but then you will not achieve 300km and therefore will stillbe deemed "soft" by your peers
Bail out Points: There will be none, we're going the full distance (speak to me personally about bail out options )
Actually, I am a bit disappointed by the thread title... here I am for 1 second thinking of MTBing through the caves... and by the time the thread opened, my dreams (of 1 second) were shattered.. destroyed like a stalactite crashing to the ground.
Sorry for taking this off track... back to the 300km epic.
Is there a PRIME on this ride.. if not, I'm not comin.. .. lol.. Thats a crazy ride. 160 is the most i've ridden so I fail the prerequisites already. Will still try and work on a ride pass but i believe that might be mission impossible.

Don, No bigger fan of a good HTFU than the writer however I'm concerned you might be a bit too early in my rebuilding stage. See how I go if I do Sunday's Enduro and how I shape up if I can do a ride to other side of Victoria Pass and home before Nov 5th. Remember 5th Nov is Guy Fawkes day, would prefer not to explode (or implode) like old Guy had in mind in 1605 NFS ps legs still sore after Tuesday night's minor exertions

Well if Sandy is up for the ride then I am in too
Just for a second or two I thought I might have been misquoted

Chuck, I don't understand? Broken bike? You're taking a huge risk riding a Shimano equipped bike on that sort of ride. Look what happened to Keith it didn't last 50 kays and it was dead flat.....You were there!

Come on...HTFU!
i would be sucking your wheel the whole way
You wash out your mouth this instant Mister Ni78ck! No Jenolan Caves ride for you, young man, and don't let me catch you talking like that again!
On a different angle - leaving the sunnyholt ramp for Katoomba and maybe a bit more at 6am saturday if any one wants to join Sandy Notflyingscot and myself
Took a run up to Katoomba with Steve this morning. Nice ride and did not hurt quite as much as I was expecting! Bumped into bmxbandito and Dougie at Glenbrook on the way up heading into the woods on the MTB's. Dougie on a Surly Pugsly. Is that really an MTB?? Looks more like beach buggy. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/123317155 Two points arise from the ride. 1. The road works between Woodford and Wentworth Falls currently provide the "thinnest" edge to ride on that I have experienced in the three years I have been riding this road. Not good at all when trucks have to pass! There are those temporary concrete barriers on your left so absolutely no where to go if you get squeezed.
2. It is already very hot up there for a big day out. Might have left it a bit late for such a serious effort.
Sounds a bit like NFS may be having second thoughts don't you think
