EOI Friday 30th December Ride

Postby leximack » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:14 pm

Hi all, hoping to get some folk together for an end of 2011 ride.
Thinking of FRiday 30th December (as i have this day off :D ). Starting at around 8am ish and heading somewhere (Route TBA), maybe 150ish kms. nothing to drastic, just a chance to get together after the hectic xmas period.
So, what ya think?

If I can, I'll be in. Reckon the route would be suitable for single speeds?

Should be ideal for Russ on the single speed  He might just have to slip a smaller cog on the back :P
Hope to be in attendance on the day. Got to consult the appointments calendar as laid out by SWMBO :)

Possible to do a 150km and 75 km route finishing at same cafe?

Plenty of Xmas cheer going down range so 150kms might be ambitious for me. Also the little one's snout is running green, so I'm switching to sleep optional mode.

Keep us informed of the route/timings and will try to come along or just hit the finish line for the hi-fives and brews.

these rides are generally done at a slower pace (25-27km/h usually). We stop alot and eat alot, so if its a training ride your after you will be very dissapointed. Its just a bunch of mates riding along and having fun and having a bit of an adventure in possibly some places you might not ride often (if at all).

Will post more details later.

Don that looks epic even if its not ridden hard it will be tough. I still struggle for the long distance rides and need them under my belt especially ones with this many hills they kill me.

Hey Don,

Is the 25-27km/hr you mention include the stops or would this be rolling avg speed? I'm chin stroking on this one as i will need the 150km to click over 9000km for the year. I will need to be conscious of the amount of hrs away from home though...

Cheers

25-27 is moving avg, allow about 2hrs all up for stops (hopefully a bit less)
