Tim, such long distances. You must be a very disciplined man. The most I can do in Port Stephens would be 60km because it is soooooooooooo boring.

Looks like you picked every possible safe route in the area. Same as you, I did not dare to venture further west on Nelson Bay Rd due to its lack of shoulder and speeding vehicles. It was a very nice area to ride with an interesting variety of terrain. Yeah great place to ride for holidays, was a refreshing change actually,loved it, but your right about venturing further west.Tim

If one has a MTB, there's the possibility of riding the coastal sand dunes to safely go west of the peninsula. It'd be a long detour.
