coffs harbour looks the goods fri and sat
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/nsw/mid-n ... d-forecast
i remember regretting not bringing my bike there when we drove around the banana plantation. there was a long tourist drive i will ride next time we're up there.

if we can wing an accommodation up that way then its prob better riding than the definite soaking wet down south.

this is the road I'm talking about

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=Bruxne ... 0&t=h&z=15

big climb to begin with and seem like it went on forever in the car. then its a long tourist drive .. very quite when we went - no shoulders but can be ridden.
apart from that we didn't do any other tourist drive. we can explore around I guess.

Call me chicken, but I'm hesitant to ride on unknown roads, so I wouldn't be too keen to just turn up somewhere and ride around. The rides in the Snowies are well known by the group and the roads are quiet, so I'm comfortable with them.

I just don't like riding on the road with traffic basically

This is my third attempt to post in last 10 minutes. Hope this one goes through.
BOM have just issued a new forecast at 16.35. Looks like the wet weather system has been moving north more slowly than they were predicting couple of days ago.
The forecast for Snowy area is actually a bit better than before though certainly still not great. Early start sat might let us get bulk of a ride in before rain sets in. PM Friday could be OK. as could Sunday AM.
I'm still up for it but my situation is different from you guys so do not let me influence any group decision.

im making the call now, IM OUT
too wet for me
i dont fancy a 5hr ride each way in the wet to sit in a pub or watch tv all day.
So i am OUT
If a miracle happens in the next few hrs and the forecast says SUNNY for sat then i will chance my mind, bit for now i am staying put.
Have a good ride and be safe.

p.s Greg, i will give you my portion of the accomodation when i see you next
