Last night at 8:30pm I had the long pants and a long sleeve jacket on. I kept toasty warm.
It is looking like garbage weather this afternoon. I have a feeling I'll be putting the bike on the trainer tonight.

It was wet for me yesterday on the way home. Cool but dry this morning at least.isabella24 wrote:Agreed. I might have a wet ride home too.

I'm hoping to get a nice easy 1 hour recovery ride in this afternoon - anything to avoid doing that on the trainer.

Kudos indeed! I chickened out and went to Athlete Lab instead. I was plenty warm enough in there. It was freezing outside though.Rockford wrote:Very windy, very cold, very wet. Managed 80km in it which felt like 180km.

The Maccas worker probably had the heater going in the place. Out of the people I know who ride the M7 on weekends, you were the only one out there so far as I know.biker jk wrote:I was going to ride rain, hail or shine since I was leading a ride. Unfortunately, no one turned up so I did the M7 solo (rained outbound). I counted six other riders. At the Prestons' Maccas an employee asked me "where are all the other cyclists"?
I had my bike ready and was just about to get going, heard some noises on the roof tiles, walked outside at 6am and noticed it was raining steadily. That was enough to deter me.

Heading west to St Ives into the teeth of the wind was tough but I must have been doing alright as I passed all but one on the leg back along Mona Vale Road to Terrey Hills. I caught up with AUBicycles at the RFS car park and Serena, who is the owner of awesome bike clothing brand Cycology Gear. A delightful and very fit lady
Coming back through Forest Way I decided I hadn't done quite enough bike time and did a few laps around Belrose to try and squeeze out an additional 10km. Thanks to the fierce tailwind I got a Top 10 on a Strava segment
