Where you with another rider heading east, maybe just before 9am? I might have been seen you before I turned off. That rain was quite heavy. Ended up with very wet shoes and socks, along with everything else soaked.tez001 wrote:Yep thought it would just be cloudy however it just showered the whole way from Prospect Dam till the end of the Greystanes canal.

Were you on the northern side of the Parramatta River heading east this morning while it was raining? I was heading home and was sure it was you coming the opposite way just after the newish section of elevated paths just before UWS. Bloody miserable bit of rain, just enough to make things really slippery and soak your shoes.g-boaf wrote:Perhaps I should have gone swimming today...
Enough of this rain already! I really thought I might have outrun the rain - but not so, final stretch it absolutely belted down. Totally drenched. And I noticed the rear brake was slightly off centre and dragging.

Shoes are near an air-con vent with newspaper stuffed in them.

I see. You have a doppelgänger Either that or the rain clouded my vision.........g-boaf wrote:No, only went up to Bella Vista then fairly fast down to Chandos Rd when the weather started getting dodgy, then back through Prospect Dam. As soon as it started raining I tried to get home as fast as possible in the conditions.

Lovely now though, the fresh breeze should dry out everything.

Blue/grey kit. A small group of us that ride/train together wear it.tez001 wrote:Yep that was most likely me, looking miserable in the rain . We're you in a club kit?g-boaf wrote:

Yep, there were a few rumbles out here. I'd planned on going out around then but put it off until 9 when the weather had cleared. It's lovely now if a bit breezy.g-boaf wrote:Thunder and lightning in the CBD this morning at 6:10am.

I rode up Mt Bowen this morning. On the way out to Richmond it was really smoky but never really enough to clog up the lungs. Halfway up Bowen you climbed above the smoke which was a relief as once you get to the steep parts you are sucking in air like nobodies business and it might have hampered the breathing then.Rockford wrote:Anyone out in it today? I stuck my head out and the smell of smoke and haze is unbelievable out my way. Don't think I want to be sucking in the air while riding in this.

I didn't find it too bad. Fairly okay, bit of light drizzle. Nothing too major.Rockford wrote:Anyone out in it today? I stuck my head out and the smell of smoke and haze is unbelievable out my way. Don't think I want to be sucking in the air while riding in this.

I'm going to try for 200km tomorrow for that reason. Seems like I'll be very warmly dressed.thomas1987 wrote:Tomorrow looks like a good day to ride before it all goes downhill with forecast rain all week

Bitterly cold this morning. I started riding faster to warm up, only to then suffer very cold feet.
