I've got these http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycle/cyc ... glove.aspx

only cheapies but work a treat!

It's my ears that suffer but I can't wear a beanie or headband without getting too hot. Catch 22 so just have to HTFU

Damn south westerly... 22km into the head wind last night... hard work. No riding today due to predicted 50km/h winds.

Man that wind out there right now is something fierce!

Just as well my bike is out of action...

But then again I could HTFU and go out there without my left brifter

Starting to rain the BOM website reports wind gust of 102 km/h at Sydney Airport. The only excercise I'm getting today is bending the elbow up the pub... Image

I was out along the Canal cycleway this afternoon/early evening and it's littered with tree branches, foliage down (especially in that cutting with the trees left and right of it) and basically there is pretty bad wind gusts. I'm back with no problems - but it's pretty nasty.

I know - I'm mad. :D

Considering going for a quick ~6.5km ride to get some coffee beans this morning, wind could be exciting but big sticks and fallen branches all over the shop could be dangerous...

Just came back from my ride to Concord to get some coffee, glad I went because it was an interesting ride. Got a little lost at one point but found my way to a bus stop with a map of the area on it and had no problems from there on. All up 13km in 33 minutes, the best thing is that I drove to and from the same place at about the same time two weeks ago and it took me 1.5 hours by car, now that I know the route I'm certainly not doing that again.

Yep, I didn't go anywhere today either - too windy and too much debris all over the place. My ride yesterday afternoon spent more time dodging fallen branches than anything else. It was still fun - but I won't do that again for a while. I hear it'll settle down tomorrow.

A bit calmer this morning. A couple of spits of rain near Dover Heights.
Good ride, hope you have one too.
Peter

Saturday + Inner West = car park. I had to take my son to tennis about 10 minutes up the road. Took 30 minutes. If you don't have to, don't drive! BTW, if you are looking for good coffe beans around Concord, try Di Stefano's on Parramatta Rd at North Strathfield. They are a specialist coffee joint. There is another one next to the car wash on the corner of Parramatta Rd and George St that is supposed to be quite good as well.

Avoided Friday thankfully, but did get out on Saturday afternoon. Still windy, but the main issue was the debris strewn all over the road. Made for a very cautious run down into Bobbin Head.. Certainly no Strava PBs to be claimed, but nice to be out none the less.

+1. Not overly cool, no wind, and I woke up early! Snuck in a few extra km's before breakfast.

Brilliant morning.
It felt just a little bit more dangerous on the roads this morning.
Maybe it was just me and not the cars :P
Have a safe ride,

It was a lovely morning but I think you were right about the roads, I had two near-incidents this morning which is unusual for me, I thought it might be the full moon but the moon is almost completely dark right now...

+1. Over the last week or so the cagers seem to have become a little more aggressive. Either they're not paying attention, or the Sun is causing problems, or they just got their latest electricity bill. I've been regularly cut off by turning cars, had pushy cars trying to merge me onto their bumper/door, and just some general stupdity. On the flip side, I've also had some very courteous behaviour where cars have been patient until I've had the chance to get out of their way.

++1 I had to take radical evasive action in the roundabout at Kingsford as a white van that I was sure must have seen me continued on his merry way into the roundabout .
Rule #1 - never assume you've been seen or given the right of way.
