Great morning for a big ride
Marrickville - Balmoral - North Head - West Head - Akuna Bay return via Gladesville Bridge, 138km.
I'm hungry, time to hit the seafood banquet at the Cyprus Club, Stanmore.

Dry when I left the ville, wet roads at Moore Park and I was rained on at Long Bay.
Dry by the time I finished, guess the bike needed a clean.

Very pleasant run in this morning. It was dry, a comfortable 13-15 deg, and school holidays meant very light traffic. Only wrinkle was that I’m nursing a bit of a sore knee, but I took it easy, ignoring my favourite Strava segments (well, mostly, anyway), and it didn’t feel too bad.

75km with a mate this morning to St. Ives and back. A few bigger groups out later (relatively, like 7:15). Managed to miss the rain, just a light mist for the first and last 5km. It's turned the tap on now though, wouldn't be pleasant.

It's not a bad commute when the only threat is rain - & even that didn't eventuate

Last couple of commuting trips have been very pleasant. Last friday I managed to enjoy a tailwind both into work in the morning and on the way home in the afternoon. Made for fast, relaxing trips.

Despite a less than stellar forecast, the weather this morning was also very pleasant - cloudy, but no rain and a cool but comfortable temperature. More traffic on the roads after school holidays, but still lighter than normal. Sun is out now so it looks like very pleasant conditions for the trip home.

Bit cold this morning! Garmin showed 8 degrees when I left home, and only reached 9.5 by the time I got to north Sydney! My fingers were a bit numb, do the hit shower was nice.
At least the ride home at 4pm is now much nicer.

The drizzle is back & more of the same forecast for tomorrow. Still I can't complain - am finally recovering from illness last week & felt good riding in.

Wet and yuck - I have a minor cold and the weather made for a very slow ride. No energy but still made it - how the showers clear before the ride home.

Looks like the same tomorrow and over the weekend. The westab clan were looking forward to going for a ride and woth our new car carrier it could have been where ever we like so we all hope the rain clears.

First time I decided to ride whilst it was raining... Usually when its raining I give riding a miss.

Anyway, I had a rain jacket + waterproof leg warmers which I put over my waterproof shoe covers. I don't know how but my shoes were drenched in rain when I finished my 35k commute. Only thing I can think of was the rain soaking through my bibs, down my leg under the leg warmers then through the socks OR up underneath my shoe.

Don't think I'll be doing this too much though as:

1) Fogging up glasses (with RX clip)
2) The dirt spray up the front and rear (no mud guards and dont intend on putting any on my roadie)
3) I'm quite nervous taking corners in the wet
4) Low visibility as light doesnt reflect too great on wet roads + truck spraying a cloud of mist when they pass.


Could this be an excuse for a wet bike? Always wanted a hard tail mountain bike

Just beat the rain
Clear skies, windy but big black clouds coming from the south west.
Luckily I only got a few drops as I passed through Surry Hills at the end of my ride.
A bit wild now.

You bet it is. Any good reason for N+1.

Wet ride in this morning as well - I don't have a wet weather bike I just ride my usual and then give it a good clean.

The good news is that I had the section of M7 I ride all to myself this morning and also it currently looks like it is clearing for the ride home. (fingers crossed)

Certainly was. Nice temps and light winds. Surprised I didn't see more people out this morning enjoying it. It's a very comfortable 24 degrees now, so should be a nice ride home. Safe riding to all.
