We could do with a Kudos button. Well done on 210km.

Surprisingly, no. I did the final climb up Bobbin Head (at the 200km mark) in the big ring at about 22km/h avg speed. Then I commuted to work this morning :-) When I did the same ride last year I was in a world of hurt. All that hilly commuting seems to have worked in my favour.

I rode at 1030am and it was so hot. I felt like ringing for a cab to take me back to the car.

Massive-once is hard, mind boggling what 3 gorges twice would be like and Peats Ridge!
Chapeau!

Cloudy this morning so not as cool. A bit of wet on some roads.
Great morning.
Have a great ride,
Peter

Weather seemed a bit crappy this morning but rode anyway. First commuting my new route on the road bike, out to get some KOM's on the way home if I can...

Looked like possible rain today but I still went out for an M7 run. In hindsight it would have been better to rest my leaden legs (from trying to keep up with queequeg on Sunday, 3,000m of climbing, ouch!).

Yeah, sorry about that :-) Rather oddly, my commutes this week have been relatively easy. That I can't explain!

Late ride home today after rock climbing. Took the road bike to see if I could smash any Strava segments but being so poorly light on the way home I didn't feel safe going too fast. Managed to get third up a hill though.

Yeah, bit chilly early this morning though it warmed up nicely to be a beautiful day for a run down the M7 with Norbs and some others. :)

Chilly 6am, warmed up reasonably, but it's far from summer now!

Which way do you do it? Bobbin-Galston-Berowra-Bobbin or up to Berowra first after Bobbin?

Great morning, rode through Bobbin head, up to pie in the sky for coffee and then back home via Bobbin. Got some great footage from my new gopro descending into Bobbin from both sides, I'll upload it to youtube after I encode it (camera is upside down so I need to rotate it and re-compress which takes ages :S).

First time I've done Bobbin twice, my riding companion today does often and always goes Bobbin-Berowra-Galston-Bobbin.
Today we went Bobbin-Galston-Berowra-Bobbin so he could have a change and that's the way I do the 3 Gorges, Galston-Berowra-Bobbin.

Video of yesterday's descent into Bobbin head from the north side:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8psE-wjZODE" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Youtube did a horrible job on the compression :S I spent hours getting the compression on the original right so it kept a good deal of quality but I guess the file was just too big.

Considering how shockingly bad the road surface is on that side, I am surprised the video is so stable! Looks like you manage a pretty nice run. It used the scare the life out of me going down that side, but I average over 50km/h now. It helps when you don't have someone towing an oversized boat up the hill towards you!

That was with YouTube image stabilization on, yeah it worked well bit I just turned it off because it distorted the image too much...

Another glorious morning.
Got lost in fog coming home from Waterfall especially coming back through Caringbah and over Captain Cooks Bridge.
Have a great ride and say hi to your mum from me,
Peter

Incredible morning out here in the Western Suburbs. Thick fog when i left home at 6 am, so thick that my front light was no more than a metre long light sabre peering into the gloom. I went out to the M7 getting a puncture on the way outside the entrance to the Sydney Dragway at Eastern Creek and then did the full M7 and back. If anything the fog was at its thickest on the northern run up the M7, it was certainly at its wettest and almost became drizzle. It was like cycling underwater. On the way back southwards around Prestons you suddenly left the fogbank and emerged into blindingly clear sunlight and intense blue sky which continued all the way back home to what is now a glorious day.

118 kilometres all up and i feel rather spent so apart from cleaning the bike i'm doing bugger all on this wonderful sunday afternoon.

The Lynskey was pristine at 6 this morning, the crud on the wet cycleway has made things a bit different. At least pouring rain might have washed some of the grime off.
