Re: I hope no one is cycling home today in the heatA guy I used to work with doing motorcycle courier work would stick his helmet in a chest freezer at lunchtime on 40 degree days in Perth. He reckoned it was great, probably not as effective with a bicycle helmet.
I made do with evaporative cooling, I installed a car windscreen washer unit so I could spray myself with water while riding, that could work on a bicycle.
Re: I hope no one is cycling home today in the heatOn really hot days I carry an extra water bottle and just pour cold water over myself when I feel too hot. I partially freeze water bottles all year round, I like my water cold. I also remove the helmet for the last few KMs as I consider it a health and safety hazard in extremely hot weather, it makes my head too hot through lack of ventilation.
