Looks like you guys had a rad day! Now, to get your thread to 54 pages....

Tip: use of suitably retro phrases (see above) is totally bodacious.

I mentioned to the group that I'd have to bring the family back to the Bare Is. portion of the ride and here's our humble addition to the bike sculpture gods:

Image

One of Great things about these rides (besides nice people and cool bikes) is learning about new areas to ride. Thanks again for that! We came back on Sunday and dinked around the bike paths, checked out the rock pools and got to see a great Colonial Days reenactment in the Bare Island Fort. Lots of muzzle-loading rifles were shot and a good time was had by all.

Kind words! Must have been the other bikes that blinded you. Clearly I was more blown away by your Mavic gruppo, Columbus steely!

jus for S n G's, I thought I'd include Bruce.

Day: Sat' or Sun';
Find Bruce.................7 days ;)
Ted, Sat or early Sun (same as Sunho)
Saro both S or S
QV both Sat or Sun
Sunho Sat (or Sun if ride finishes before 9am)
Either S or S.
Joe H, prefer Sat but Sun OK (also prefer daylight :)

Area I live:
Find Bruce, Concorde
Ted, Parramatta
Saro, Bankstown
QV, Villawood
Sunho, North Ryde
frailer5; Hornsby
Joe H, Chatswood

Would ride to:
Find Bruce.................... Cairns ;) or Darwin
Ted, Anywhere really, I like trees
Saro, Anywhere. Fav' is to Woollongong thru Nat'o, along Lady Carrington Dve
Qv, Anywhere, as long as I can get there(possibly pooling with Saro).
Sunho, Anywhere. Fav' Bobbin head[/quote]
frailer5: bottom of Sydney Basin, incl. route outlined above. (Fitness needs to return... from somewhere)
Joe H, Sydney area for now but would consider a weekend ride in the Hunter Valley or something similar. The missus would definitely go for something that had nice B&Bs or access to nice restaurants or coffee shops.

If anyone is interested the DHBC vintage crew are planning a ride in the Bowral/Picton area on Sunday 26 May. This will include a climb of the Old Razorback and finish on the Bowral velodrome. The whole ride is about 140km, some dirt roads (including Razorback) with about 1,000 m of climbing. We intend to keep up a pace of about 25 kph. Map is here. There's potential to do a portion of the route if you don't fancy the full distance. Send me a PM if you're keen, Andy is already coming along. 8)

I can go, but dunno if I can do the 140km.

If Paul, or someone else will lead a retro ride, then I'll go on our ride. Otherwise, I'll see about the DHBC one.

Tentative/kite flyer. Feel free to suggest changes/alternatives. Pretty varied. If joe's around as well, easy train ride as north shore ones skip Redfern> Strathfield; then to Parra reasonably quickly. Easy reach Villawood/Milperra.

May/early June ride.
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...

I have my legitimate excuses all lined up & ready to go :D

Option 1 - Saro28's proposed ride (Bowral - Picton & back) I have driven razorback plenty of times - I am a big wuss & waay too soft to ride that.

Option 2 - Frailer5's proposed ride (Parramatta & return) that's more like it - an easy distance, even when I ride to the start and home again. Sat 25 May, SWMBO is going shooting that afternoon & I would rather not be the target :D I may be able to get a leave pass if I can get home by a reasonable hour on Sat morning.
It doesn't get easier, you just get slower

Let's pencil in the 25th then, Saturday. Don't mind an early start, but 0700 maybe. If anyone's adamant, I'll do 0630 though.
Touch base and do the head count around Thursday. Maybe PM me your mobile, find_bruce; I'll put it in.

You guys only ever seem to do rides when I'm busy, away scouting on the 25th. Would love to come on the next one though, might have something new to try out if I'm lucky.

Hmmm, may be a bit early for BBQ hitting the GIT. There's a few cafes in the Millenium Parklands precinct. Maybe anti-clockwise is the way to go. We'd still be there early enough before the strollers and trike hoards hit. Then west to Parra to finish.
Thoughts?
...I'd better remember to bring that seat too, Quang. You OK if I hit it with some of the magic VO leather treatment, hot off the DHL MD-11, from the good ole US of A? I've put some on the VO leather saddle that came in the same parcel.
Shall try and commission some sesame and cherry bars again, too.
