Lol, I like my 'vintage carbonator' even if it is only 3 years old! I'll be at SOP at 7am, I'll be riding down the M4 path from Seven Hills.

Hmmm sound like it might be another long one doesn't it... Although I've commuted to work every day so far this week so I might be too worn out!

Joe H wrote:To those who have ridden from the start point at SOP, how is the parking? Google maps shows lots of spots. Are there any restrictions or time limits? Thanks in advance for any advice,

there are restrictions in the area Joe. I park over in Uhrig Rd. Restrictions apply only for event days here.

Yes, that's my travel plan atm..... meet you at Yennora station on the rail-trail at (a time that suits you)

Maybe join up with Isabella24 on the M4 path (near Caterpillar?) at a suitable time??

Convoy onto SOP from there??

Mark.

I'm happy to meet near caterpillar at whatever time you think you'll be there. I'm assuming by caterpillar you mean the westrack equipment hire place on the m4 path just west of church st (I think the proper address is 1 crescent st, holroyd)? Let me know a time and I'll see you there!

I've seen someone do it, but I'd advise against even thinking about riding down the centre ramp at the Milsons Pt stairs. Do not let the Inner Child take over. Can you confirm this, Isabella24? :)
... back to the bleachers now....

Guys! There is a free parking lot at the Concord West entrance to Bicentenial Park.

I used to work down that way a lot as we had a major client in George St, Concord West. If you can find Concord West Train Station, there is a street that runs from the western side of the station, towards Bicentenial Park & goes under Homebush Bay Dr. There is a Parking lot there (P10). From here it is only 100m or so to the meeting point, from what I can see.

This is where I will be parking, anyway

I just did a reconosense drive down there to make sure nothing had changed - All Good!

Yep, I'm with you Frailer. I wouldn't ride down the ramp at the Milsons Point stairs either.
At least not on my road bike. On a mountain bike with suspension I might think about it, but only if no one else was on the stairs at the time - they are only narrow.

Yes, there is parking at the end of Victoria Avenue, I go through there on my commute home.
There is normally also plenty of street parking in the general vicinity as well, in case the carpark is full.

Spot on Paul. That space on the left is the free car park. They closes the gate which is under the Homebush Drive and not sure what time they are open. If any of you arrive there and the gate is close, I am sure the Victoria Ave will have some spare spots for few cars.

Sign says that the gates are open between Sunrise & Sunset.

So where do you work frailer5? I'm in the (ever shrinking) Printing game, myself.

Thank you all for today's ride, being in a group certainly helped dispel a lot of anxiety coming back to riding longer distances after my injuries :)

In the end did about 77km (home->olympic park->retro ride->ride home from cabramatta)

Good to meet those I did not meet last time - sorry for confusing names Joe and Greg
