With Andy's 0630 starts, shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, pedal faster. :cheesy:

I doubt anyone would even glance. Too busy peering through the rain specs. As long as you have 'retro-intent'. :D And surely we can't have another Saturday like the one just gone.

Thanks for organizing another ride! I'm in for this Saturday but my wife has to pass - she's arranging a ride for moms and kids at Centennial Park. I'm checking transport options but Paul's train option may be my best bet. I'll confirm before the day.

No Trackwork on NS line flagged. :) A miracle in itself.

Redfern's a single train ride for Joe and me. (Nth Shore liners skip to Strathfield from there.) So should be about 15 mins to western end Coward St. 0645. By the time we changed trains at Redfern, we'd be at Coward St.
You OK with that, Andy? One of us will phone/SMS to confirm we're on track. You guys will be about same time along Qantas Drive track.
Yes, realised I didn't have a spare tube; got one today.

Josh won't be able to make it tomorrow. So I guess it's the 5 going now.

Anyway, the forecast is looking really good for the whole week.

And hopefully my bar tape arrives today otherwise I'll have to run bar tape less.

I'll be at Holbeach 6.30am. Be ready to get bored listening to my tales of the Beechworth Eroica.

HAHA, I was just on DHBC page reading about Greg P, great to read of his recovery.

Show us the pain you suffer, look forward to the updates :)

QuangVuong,

What color of tape are you after? I have some extra bright medium blue tape I could bring along - we could wrap 'em up during a coffee stop. It's not suited to anything I own and one strip is on a cricket bat now (yes, a Yank was allowed to buy a cricket bat, and wore out a handle cover) but I'd be happy to strip that off if you want.

Black I guess. It still has not arrived. If you're not gonna use it, then why not. Hopefully you'll see this message and do bring it. Bar's gonna be freezing at this time.

Sorry guys, I got a flat on the way. I still haven't got my good pump back and my spare pump wasn't very good, so I very slowly made my way home. Hope you had a good time.

John, Andy thought you weren't coming at all!

Anyway, another good ride today! Dropped by Andy's place and grabbed a bike as well. Looking forward to the next one.

Good ride indeed. And weather delivered as ordered.
Hope to have the fitness back up a bit by the next one. TG for those red lights. --->
The steelies were like jewels in a sea of ordinariness. Well, that's how we see it when a creaking/cracking carbon goes past.

QuangVuong, sorry I got your message after the ride. Really cool retro carbon bike! The blue tape would have been too low rent for your bike.

Andy, great route - thanks! I'll probably take the family to the park/island on Sunday. I'll post a couple of pictures.

The motley crew all lined up in the sun:

Image

With all due respect to His Lanceness, it is about the bikes:

Image

Just taking the views:

And then I shot over to meet the missus and kids at Centennial Park. I was having a sit down at the pre-arranged playground when what should zip by? Did that look like my bike? After a quick mount and hard chase, it sure was, an 86 Corsa Extra in Panasonic livery. The owner had it custom-painted in Melbourne and built up by Fyxomatosis. What a hoot! I told the owner about our rides and the retro rides site. I think he's way too fast for me but he's also about 30 years younger and had seriously good legs (just saying).

So then I chased my 5 year old around the park as she learned to ride without training wheels; I'm enjoying a well deserved glass of wine as I type. Thanks to everyone for another great ferrous (and carbon) ride!

Yes, great job on it. The lugs 'save' it... :D Just kidding.
