looks good to me. I'll b a starter for Friday, after the Dawn Service.

Start Time is...........?

My suggestion is from Tempe, Holbeach Rd - following bike friendly route to Sutherland then into RNP at Audley, steep downhill then uphill. Then out to Bundeena - ferry to Cronulla ($8) and option of Kurnell.

How does a start time of 6:30 at Tempe Station sound ?

I will be at the corner of Croyden Avenue & the Cooks River path about 25 minutes before the agreed start time if anyone wants to join me.

Sounds good to me. I shall probably put the bike in the boot and drive down.

Soft!

I'm heading past there. I should be there at that time too. Then again, last time I waited somewhere for Bruce and Paul....

Hmm. Sounds like a challenge. Guildford to Tempe is about 30kms. This Royal National Park ride is all downhill? :D

New retro-ride rule: Claire must be pre-exhausted for rides that include hills.

Take the train home.

BFV does this mean you are bringing a bike with a functional small chain ring, or are you planning to do another ride in the big gears ?

Bringing touring bike with a triple on the front. I've got a 24 tooth chain ring!

BTW, the difference between a functional small chain ring and pain was three chain links.

I'll meet you there. I'll be riding my new pretend-Ciocc if I get it finished in time. No triple for me. :(

Lol, you might just get your wish BFV - by the time I make it to Friday, this week I'll have done a 80km ride on Monday and 3 x 50km commutes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday my legs will be buggered!

Hmmm in hindsight, maybe I should drive to work tomorrow...

Ill prob be riding over. Ill be going through Rookwood cemetary, so those who are heading from SOP may be able to meet at the wall that runs by Centenary Dr, then through the Cooks River path.

Bugger! So i get home with just under 160km on the clock, i decide to ride down my street and back again to get the 160. I do that and check my calculation to find i rode 99.68 miles today so no Imperial century for me and i'm not game to go out to do another few hundred yards :(

Twas a great ride. Thanks very much. As predicted, the Western Suburbs are bathed in warm sunshine, none of this Cronulla rain.

Thanks everyone for the great ride today - my wettest ride yet, and just as I got home and am cleaning everything up the sun comes out

@Hergest - this is the Anime printed on my jersey
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31gCdwxLLUY

@Rheicel - I used your trick to clean most of the dirt/sand off my bike after getting home (not having a hose), these camelback podium water bottles are great! lol

@Minhy - hope you're graze wasn't too hard to clean!

It was cool to see everyone's retro steeds and I look foward to the next one, until then I'll keep an eye out for a nice steelie on gumtree :P !

locked up the rear wheel descending the left-hand hairpin-ish turn at McKell ave, aimed to land in the dirt/rocks instead of plop on the road at 40something km/h. great success, it could have been a lot worse imo

Thanks for the great ride everyone! I got 140kms in which I'm pretty happy with - it's the longest ride I've done since I tore the ligaments in my ankle in January.

Hope your gravel rash heals quickly Minh, I still think you were really lucky falling on the dirt and also that no car was coming round the bend!

It was a wet old ride, although predictably it is sunny and warm in Western Sydney! Why did we go to South Sydney again.... Oh that's right, the hills!!!

Until next time...

It was such a wet ride. Water was everywhere, from inside my rims to inside my GPS. Towards the end of the Cooks Path, and my suburb is was dry, and didnt look as if it had rained at all. The 4km hill was the biggest hill Ive tackled, but its nothing too bad. Just need to spin up it, which I dont like doing at all.

Will, I got a 57/59 ST/TT steel frame I wanna sell. Prob too big for you, but its cheap ;)

Thanks Quang, that's much too big for me unfortunately - I'd be looking at 52-55cm tt.
