The best climb in NSW?

Postby GAV!N » Fri Aug 23, 2013 3:18 pm

I'm planning on heading to the Snowy's later this year to ride Kancohban to Jindabyne, then possibly up to Perisher over a few days. This will include the Alpine Way climb... :|

It got me thinking, what's the best climb in NSW? I'm not talking the BIGGEST, or the HARDEST, but all in all, including road surface, traffic, scenery, total enjoyability etc??

I thoroughly enjoy Macquarie Pass as a climb, but HATE the Tradies and hoons that fly up and down there with a seemingly endless hate for cyclists.

The west side of Berry Mountain is also a favourite, excellent scenery and wildlife and next to no traffic :D

I love the Snowy's climbs, particularly Charlotte's Pass. The roads are great, scenery beautiful and plenty of good very fresh air!

Mt Scanzi, Meryla Pass, Woodhill Mtn and Yarramunmun fire trail.

2 of those have zero traffic :D
