Lots of fun on the 80 km part where I am riding with the retro geeks. The rest are before and after that are pretty average

The program that combines the GPX seems to mess up the time stamp. So I did not bother combining them.
Which program do you use - I have found viking to be very good, but your issue may be differences between the GPS & phone

I reckon that will be my problem too. But I guess we are allowed to wear a fake one?

Ill have to try this out. Ive been using GPS Visualiser to join and reconvert my files, but as you may have noticed, most of the files that were reconverted come out with a total time of 30 something hours. However, it's good that it converts my GPX files(which are sometimes incompatible with Strava) to usable GPX files.

A beard is only compulsory on a recumbent completely optional (though the height of chic) at any other time.

You shouldn't have any problems starting out in Audax, Rheicel, the Sydney guys are a nice bunch and there's heaps of rides on.

<pounce>
Just go to http://www.audax.org.au and checkout the online ride calender - you can limit by state and distance and most rides have a link to a map of some description and contact details for the ride organiser. If you see a ride you like the look of send the RO and email and have a chat.

The rides out of Hornsby are regularly getting 20 starters, so you'll find plenty of company on the road!

Thanks again Grant. Yep, I have googled them earlier and have seen the rides. I am getting more interested now. Riding with company is definitely enjoyable!
:D

I have contacted them to see if I can join the Follow the River for Peats Sake. :oops:

Looks like a good ride. What was the frustration? The last I drive to the Hunter Valley (August), we took Old Northern Rd to Wisemans Ferry and did the scenic trip up through Mangrove. All I remember was how bumpy it was, but it was also quite flat except the climb at the end to Mangrove.
If you want lots of climbs, try the BNCC 210km route. Basically it is 3 Gorges in both directions, plus Peats Ridge.

The ride is overall good, except that I did it with a pesky flu with a bit of a fever. I thought I just made my condition worst after the long ride :(

Yes that's 3,000m of climbing versus 2150m for the Audax ride yesterday. There is the Queen Stage 300km Audax ride with 11 climbs coming up on January 18.

First I need to sort out my flu. If I am better on the 18th, I might give it a go! Are you doing this John?
