Sydney Hills on a Weekday

Postby The_Eggman » Wed May 07, 2014 12:48 pm

Hey

So I'm looking to start doing some hills sessions on weekday's around Sydney, but it will have to be mid mornings rather than crack of dawn stuff - I'm on kid duty until 9am-ish.

Akuna Bay loops or Bobbin head repeats strike me as about right in terms of intensity, lengths and gradients, but I've no idea how busy these roads are through the working week. RNP strikes me as being a bit busy thru the week.

Thoughts?

Rode from Church Point to McCarrs top tolbooth on a weekday a couple of months back. Zero cars. I think I caught it on a good day though. Riding Akuna from east to west and back might get a few cars coming by you, but its pretty wide. It's not an area I've had issues with vehicles in, even solo on a quiet-bike day.

I have done Akuna a few times in some weekday afternoons in the past few months. Often see people getting back to their cars when i get there ;) . Hardly a car in sight with perhaps exception of Mccarrs.

north of the bridge: - Bobbin, mcarrs, akuna, surely mosman hills would top the list for quick fast and painful work out!
