Asking on behalf of a friend. He and his GF are a bit bored with Akuna Bay and West Head and are looking for somewhere else scenic to ride with light traffic, 40-50km round trip, easy to moderate climbing. I've suggested the M7 path just for this weekend, but it's not that scenic. He says she's still building fitness but likes to ride.
Ideas?
Thanks for your help.

Lane Cove National Park isn’t bad. Few loops will easily be 40.

Loops can get boring - take a brake by climbing up to Bradfield Rd (there is a steep paved service track up to it) and go to the cafe in More Ave?DG1984 wrote:Lane Cove National Park isn’t bad. Few loops will easily be 40.

South - waterfall. The climbs are not difficult, but not easy. The beauty makes up for it.
Bobbo is a close and obvious option (which you know very well anyway) but it is more about climbing and descending. I enjoy the ride to manly north head though this doesn't come with light traffic when you connect it up. Palmy is fantastic but again you get the traffic.
In other words, Akuna and Westhead is very hard to beat and you would have to travel out of Sydney to routes with beauty, light traffic and not too many hills.

Royal National Park (RNP)
They will need to catch a train to somewhere to get the K's down to their target but once in that area there are a lot of options including catching the Bundeena ferry
If they are looking for a cruisy day in summer then catch the train to Wollongong and ride the bike path north until bored of the scenery and jump the train back to Sydney. Grab lunch and a swim on route

If the R-1 rule is broken, what happens to N+1?

What about Olympic Park that can be easy to moderate and have lots of Olympic things to see.
