Just come along and ride with us, as long as you can ride 40km at a reasonable pace, it will be OK. When I first started, I was "tail end charlie" all day long.
We don't mind keeping the speed to a reasonable pace for you.
Yoy will get fitter, faster riding with others who will push you along.

Truth be told, with assignments and exams it would be a big stretch for me to make it this month regardless
Once I get that stuff out of the way and a couple more decent rides under my belt I'll be keen as mustard, you can hold me to that
See you guys soon

Just to point out that the ride is not so long for most people. Good ride, pushed along a bit faster, 4 riders - met Goosh for the first time.
no ride next weekend - Around the Bay beckons!

I'd be up for a Saturday morning ride (30th) if there's one on and the bunch is willing to have a newbie on board

Last Sunday we went towards Mordialloc, otherwise its to Frankston or Tooraddin.
I normally ride on Saturdau by myself, but its a long weekend and after all my day's off riding recently, there's a reckoning for me with a paint brush!
Is Sunday 31-Oct OK, or I can meet you for a ride on Sat 6-Nov.
Newbies are welcome, you may get "pushed along" a bit, its good for you!
Matt.

All will depend on whether or not I end up staying at my gf's house Saturday night........if this is the case I'll have to give it a miss as she lives in Coburg.........I live in Dandenong though, so if we sleep at my place the night before I'll be there with bells on
Thanks for the quick reply, I'll let you know what I'm doing by Saturday night
I don't think I'll mind being pushed along. Just beware though that I have never ridden in a bunch, so I don't really know any etiquette other than stuff I've read
Looking forward to it

So we took the road less travelled and rode to Mordialloc via Greens Rd & Springvale rd. There was no traffic & the roads were good for riding. I am sure that during the week, these roads would be a nightmare for cyclists. We got back to McDonalds before 9am for a coffee.
Two new Riders joined us: Ultra and Mark H, welcome aboard.
With the warm weather I am expecting more riders to find their bikes again, so if you are looking for a small group ride in the SE, join us for a ride on Sunday.
We ride for fitness and fun - its not too serious and new riders are welcome.
Normal rides are Tooraddin, Frankston (Olivers Hill) and Mordialloc.
meet 6:50am, leave at 7am, back by 9am (ish).
McDonalds Hampton Park, Sth Gippsland Hwy, near Freeway exit.

Will you still be riding on Sunday if it is wet ? If so any idea what sort of distance ? Dont mind a bit of a shower but not too keen on a drenching !
Thanks

A normal ride is 40-45km, average speed 25-29 kmh, leave at 7am back by 9am.
The current forecast for Sunday is for showers, we will look at ther forecast on Sat aftrenoon and make a decision based on our level of commitment / stupidity.
I will be there unless its raining, just come down by 7am and we will get a ride in if possible.

I felt obligated to meet at McDonalds this morning to meet any other hard souls - it appears that there was some serious ZZZZ work going on, as no-one else turned up!
After I waited for the last rider (me) to get there, and I had a coffee with me, I left at 7:15am, it was a small group ride, but the group was very tight, we all took equal turns on the front.
As predicted by the Melbourne Rain Radar, there was no rain and I had a great ride. I went to Cranbourne then Pearcedale exploring some of the back roads. I found good roads, a few hills and not many cars. I will definitely be going back there again soon, there is lots of potential in this area on the secondary roads.
With Melbourne weather being as random as it is, I do a final weather check at 6:30am, look outside and check the Melbourne Rainfall radar before I cancel. If its not actually raining, I go riding.
50km, 26kmh average, 1:52.
That's how we roll in the Casey Allstars!

I have been following the news and seen some fantastic riding going on.
I have been ill. Bronchitis. Nasty. Started with a simple cold. while still training hard it got worse for some reason.
This went on for some weeks. Needles to say the wife is by now truly tired of my hogging the tv.
Had to stop and lay off for some time to get my immune system back in town.
I have started training for a few weeks, so as the saying goes. you cant keep an old dog down.
In the near future I hope to join up with you all for a little jaunt.
Nice to hear that you have Incorporated some hills into the equation.
I'm suffering just thinking about it. Ill have to bust out some crazy form to catch up to you lot.
I'll keep training as I'm getting stronger every day. See you all in some weeks to come.
must say that i wonder what happened to (greyhound tom) Nice bloke.
I will stay in touch, reading about your rides will hasten my urgency to progress in my search for fitness.
Regards Gruppetto
