Bummer!!
20 minutes into this mornings ride and I’m doing it tough, even my hands started cramping up. I’m afraid I had to call it quits and coast back to the starting point again.

It’s going to take a lot of work to get this old body back up to scratch ......... mmmm back onto the indoor trainer I think.

Should've come on a ride with you guys while I had the chance

As posted above, I broke my arm a while back. Not long after that mishap I got back on the bike and a couple of rides in I BROKE MY LEG. Luck doesn't get much worse than that

The good news is my arm has recovered 100%. The bad news is that due to my leg injury (which occurred a couple of weeks back now) I'm at least a month away from being back on the bike

When I first expressed interest in this ride I stated that I didn't want to start riding in a bunch until I had a few more long rides under my belt. Let me assure you this point of view has changed. If these rides are still happening (which I trust they are), you can expect to see me as soon as I'm back on the bike. I'll be the guy with the super skinny unconditioned legs

Happy riding

I'm normally not a morning person - especially on the weekends! But I might have to jump in on some of these rides if they are still happening after Xmas?

We ride at 7am Sunday as most people don't have anything else scheduled then except sleeping in. If it was just me it would be earlier... 7am also works during winter.

I am still riding every Sunday with Erik, there is an open invitation for anyone to join us for a ride. Numbers have been "random", usually 2-4 people over the past few months.

There have been no other riders for a few weeks, so we have been leaving from my house in Lynbrook at 7am (ish).

If you are interested in joining us send me a PM or post on this thread and we will meet at McDonalds in Hampton Park for a 7am start.

I am exploring the general area and there is a bit more variety to the roads then I first thought, North though Dandenong South, There are hills in Cranbourne South and Langwarrin, Devon Meadows is flat and straight but very low traffic. The on road bike path from Cranbourne to Frankston is complete both ways and is a good ride.

Happy Riding.

This is not really a group ride at the moment, I ride with one other every Sunday for 2 hours, 40-50 km.

It COULD be a group ride if a we get a few people to turn up regularly.

PM me when you want to ride & we will start up again.

Hi guys,

While I would love to join in for a Sunday morning ride again, unfortunately my age and health have caught up with me, and I have only managed an average of 22 km per hour for the 35 km trips I have been doing.

On top of that a couple of scares with the 100 km+ traffic on the roads around here has resulted in me having to go and get my riding fix going round and round at the Casey Fields crit track.

Hope you guys have a great ride on Sunday mornings, and stay safe.

Cheers,
Tom
