Coming to Vic. BNA Ride!

Coming to Vic. BNA Ride!

Postby RobRollin » Thu Jul 01, 2010 9:49 pm

I'm booked in and coming over the Vic for a few days next weekend. Would like to get together with the VIC BNA members for a ride on the Sunday 11th June. Anyone want to meet up, join in, have a coffee afterward somewhere.

Who's in?

MMM while I would love to participate I’m committed to doing a leisurely sprint to Tooradin that Sunday morning, AND I’m unlikely to be up to the speed and hill climbing standard you guys are sure require. BUT depending on time and location I could be up for the coffee after your ride. :D

Cheers,
Tom

Not sure I'm up to these hills you refer too! What about Beach Road to Mordie? I have no idea of the route or how tough or easy it is. Or how far?

Its 50km return from St Kilda... hard and fast or nice and relaxing... if you think there is a hill on beach road you've been drinking to much.

Because Rob doesn't know the area that well, I'm going to suggest you either meet at Luna Park Mouth or Gloria Jeans like we used to do.

Suggest

8:00am (Luna Park Mouth or Gloria Jeans)

Melb to Mordi or St Kilda to Mordi, damhooligan and KenGS to lead as they know the way

I wont be coming, I'll see you all in summer

the reason i'm asking this is because i don't know your riding skills.
Don't know what a 'normal' distance is for you.
Don't know how much time you have either.

We can also go west, no hills there either...(probabaly even more flatter than beach road..)

I dont mind where we go. But that trip sounds good.

I ride 150-200kms a week, I'm used to 50ks a ride, few hills don't hurt. :D . Okay they do but oh well. We'll go with Missy suggestion though.

So who's coming?

Rob - 8am sounds ok.
Where are you staying and do you know your way around Melbourne?
We need to make sure you don't get lost getting to the start point

Brunswick-CBD is a nice warm up for a Beach Rd run.

Take two bottles, you can find a few refill spots too if needed.

Have fun out there.

Just checking the train schedules and it would appear that the earliest you can get to Southern Cross station is 8.03 am and that is with changing trains at Ringwood.

I am in much of the same situation if I wanted to catch a train from Narre Warren. So just in case, what time do you guys ride away from Gloria Jeans?

Hey Tom,

Try for a search to Flinders st, instead of spencer st. I tried it and there's a service that will pull in at Flinders st at 7:56am :D

See you all there! (pending weather!)
