Hi Everyone, my name is Gus. I have recently moved to Melbourne and want to get back into more serious riding (thus I joined this website - it looks very good) and hope to get some pointers on riding in Melbs and also perhaps get a few riding buddies. I used to race triathlons but am too busy now so I just hope to get out on my bike a bit more.

What side of Melbourne are you in? It might help narrow the suitable group rides that you can join.

Welcome aboard Gus, shouldnt be too hard to find the odd ride to jump on, there's a few active Melbournites around here.

I am in Northcote and trying to work out if there are any good areas to ride in around here without having to drive to do the bay roads, etc.

Ah, sunny Northcote. Well your in luck because just across the river is Yarra Boulevard. Plenty of laps of rolling hills there with low traffic volumes and plenty of other riders.

Yeah I sometimes ride that way when I ride to work. Not a bad road to ride along.
