Hi boys it's mid week and I hope were all doing well. Just wondered who's up for a slow stroll Saturday to turn the legs over before Around The Bay. I'm happy to go as far or short as you like if anyone is keen ? Regards Colin.

assuming i'm feeling ok i'll be there, woke up today feeling rather snotty and sore. Not really what i was hoping for this close to Almost All The Way Around The Bay In a Day Until I get Tired And Fall Off.

Ozzie, at this stage I'm in, however attempting a PB up Kinglake tomorrow so will have to see how I pull up. If I'm not there, good luck for all those doing 'around the bay' hopefully the Queenscliff to Werribee headwind has the day off for you!

I will give it a miss tomorrow, got a few things to do before the ATB and give my bike a good going over. Its a 6:00am start for me in Geelong and 135km back to Melbourne, this will be a first for me. May see some of you in Alexandra Gardens at the finish, I`ll be the guy in the ATB jersey and looking a bit tired.....
Hope to catch up next weekend.

have fun Don, you'll be fine. You'll probably be long gone by the time we get to the finish. We're not expecting to get back there until 3-4pm.

we are supposed to be getting 45km/h head winds on the way to Geelong, which is just terrific. Should be a tail wind on the way home though, so it almost evens out.

Hi gents well just completed in my first ATB as you know only did the 50km with some work colleagues. What a great event and extremely well run. Really enjoyed it even with the strong winds and rain after finishing. I'm know keen to enter an upcoming hills ride at Mount Macedon in mid November. Until next week have fun at work hope you all finished ATB safely see you Saturday 8.00 usual place. Colin.

Its been a long Around The Bay day but I did it. 135km in 5hr 14 mins riding time. Average 26km/h. Started at 6:00am in Geelong, finished in Melbourne about 2:45pm, this included the ferry crossing, about 40mins, and a number of snack stops along the way. In the city there were plenty of traffic lights on red, as always.
Weather was fairly good, a couple of minor showers, wind not really as issue until near the finish. The bike was perfect and I am feeling good...even had enough in the tank for a couple of brief sprints on Beach Road getting towards the end...all in all, a good day, will sleep well tonight.
All the best

From tulla I went via mathews ave/keilor rd/Mt alexander rd/flemington rd. (all of these roads, I have never been before, and I liked them all.. 8) )
From CBD to point cook, footscray rd/williamstown rd/fransis st/miller/fed trail.

Hi guys for those that are interested a couple of us are entering an upcoming charity ride.
Sunday 13th November Hanging Rock,The Cross, Mt Macedon. Ride distances 60-95-110 km.Go to www.rideforbikes.org.au
We are only doing the 60km one as we have no hill climbing abilities and thought it would be a good starter to built up for some of the bigger climbing events later in the year. Let us know if you are keen. Regards Colin.
