Hi Guys,
I am from Singapore, and will be going up to Ballarat for my pilot training which is about a year worth of training. I am an avid cyclist and triathlete, and i'm looking to purchase a new TT bicycle when i am there in a months time. Would like to check with everyone,
Are there any good recommended bicycle shops in Ballarat or anywhere near the ballarat airport?
Any particular shop which offers good servicing / after purchase services / good offers and a proper bike fit?
So far, i am looking at purchasing either a Specialized transition or a Felt TT bike, or any recommended TT bikes. Any particular shop tt carries TT bikes/ equipments/ services?
Would really appreciate if someone could point me to the right directions. Stranger in a new land. Hope to make some friends when i am there.
Cheers!
Jarrett, Singapore

Interesting. Having grown up in Ballarat, i would have placed that place second last on my "to visit" list. the new bike store, Bike Hub, behind Bridge Mall would be my pick.
Currently riding: - 2010 Malvern Star Oppy C6 - 2011 Focus Whistler (Upgraded forks) - 2012 Reid Helix

Thanks for the information guys.
Is there any triathlon specific shop that sells bikes as well? If not in ballarat, anywhere near?
I've done my search online, really poor results and i believe there are some good shops which don't have a website either.

No idea if they are any good or not but it sounds like they might be a tri store in Melbourne http://www.s-b-r.com/

Hi Tofubox, not sure if you have your bike already but presume so...just in case...my bike shop of choice is Cycle City in Mair St in central Ballarat. great advice, wide range of gear and good with repairs. they have a cycle team so may be of interest if you are a serious TT/rider. hope the lovely weather hasn't been too bad for you. cheers

Id recommend Wheelspeed Cycles in Gisborne, its closer to Ballarat than Melbourne. The guy is really helpful and he knows his stuff. Phone number is 54282552. He sells Trek. Shaws Cycles is ok but I reckon the guy has been around too long
