Cycling Clubs (around Caroline Springs area)

Hi All,
Just wondering if any one knows if there is a cycling club around the Caroline Springs area at all?

I believe there is a Brimbank group (BRIMBUG ?) in St Albans but wondered if there is another group/club closer to me?

It looks like either Melton or Sunbury would be the closest (though at this stage of my cycling are both a bit too far to "ride-to" then participate, then ride home....so would require using the car to get there and back (which I was hoping to avoid).
I was hoping there might be somewhere closer but it doesn't seem to be the case.

If anyone else knows of others clubs that would be closer please let me know.

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Caroline Springs always was designed as a car-centric suburb.

I'd check out this group as you won't find anything any closer. Mind you, they will be a recreational/commuter group. Some look for racing when they're talking about clubs.

This is true, though I was hoping there would be enough like-minded people in the area who like riding as a hobby/sport (not just as a way to commute to/from work)

Not sure I'm quite up to racing at this point in time so probably more of a recreational group would be more suitable....but in time who knows.

Well I'd be moving to Caroline springs in the next 2-3months or so..

Excellent.
I found out the other day that the Melton Cycling Club are looking to try and incorporate a Caroline Springs ride every fortnight/month to try and include more people within the shire, which is great timing considering my post!

If we end up with enough CSprings riders we may even be able to make our own informal group for weekend rides etc. (just thinking out aloud...LOL)
