20%+ increase in inbound Melbourne cyclists on Super Tuesday

The Herald Sun today reported that "more than 5000 city workers " are riding into the Melourne CBD in morning peak hour (from the Super Tuesday count)

The 'Melbourne Bicycle Account' (a spin-doctor's masterpiece of minimal factual date, i.e. counts and historical trend data, a large number of pretty pictures and a modest number of one syllable mom&apple pie words! hope they do better this year) reports about 4270 riders in the same Super Tuesday count last year.

This seems to be around a 20-25% increase in cycling in one year.
