I haven't seen any official announcement and I guess that most local riders would know by now that the new underpass under Point Cook Road/Skeleton Creek bridge in Seabrook is now open. For those who like to ride the bike paths in the area and in particular the Bay Trail, this means there is no more having to cross an often very busy Point Cook Road.
The rough asphalt track on the eastern side of Point Cook Road on the north side of Skeleton Creek is being replaced with concrete, judging from what I saw today, there should be a nice new concrete section in place by the end of the week. Hopefully, the council will continue the good work and replace the rough asphalt track on the western side of Point Cook Road next.
For those who believe that a few words of encouragement help to get things done, perhaps a few kind words to this address may be in order:
Now, if we could only get VicRoads to bridge Geelong Road (Princes Highway) to Federation Trail.
Not in my life time it seems. : (
