Thinking of trying this out on Saturday - weather looks promising. Was wondering if starting at Narbethong, through Marysville and then up to the resort car park summit, then back home via Buxton would make a good ride, about 80km all up?

sounds like a good route. I've ridden Marysville -> Lake Mountain, it's a great ride, but lots of climbing.
I would steer clear of the B360 although they may have bike lanes now?

Actually having just read how good the Reefton Spur is supposed to be, I might just do Warburton-Lake Mountain and back. If I have enough left in me and enough time I'll go for Donna at the end, which I've never done before either.
