High wind warning

The daily commute has been hard going for the past few weeks... And they reckon it's going to get worse!

While stopped at the lights, I noticed that one of the wind turbines on top of ANZ's building at Docklands had been blown over.

There are rubbish bins near the shrine on St. Kilda road which are attached to posts which are cemented into the ground. One of those was on its side this morning... pulled out of the ground, cement still attached.

My wife's leading a ride of newbies from Southern Cross to Williamstown for lunch ... could get exciting.

The bin on its side isn't necessarily caused by wind, could just be bored teens.

Wasn't it Fev who once urinated one night on the St Kilda Rd police complex?

Kane Johnson. And because he is a footballer (and therefore above the law in the State of Victoria) he got away with it.

Ah, yes, Kane.

And Shane Crawford's brother wouldn't give up his spot at the Casino table he was playing one night, so did his duty there and then.

Victoria's laws against religious vilification of course give immunity to AFL players. :D

That ANZ turbine fell apart a few weeks ago when there was some spectacular horizontal rain in Docklands. I think they've taken them down as a precaution now.

Rode home along the beach as usual. Pretty exciting stuff! Quite gusty but you could handle it. Just had to go a bit slower as the gusts forced a need to lean into the wind which is never great.

What's the bet it won't be a tailwind to take me home in the morning?
Feeling pretty flat anyway after a week of night shift, might just pike it and train all the way :?
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.
