Bike hire helmets
Postby gorilla monsoon » Mon Nov 04, 2013 12:49 pm
I understand cheap helmets can be bought for the hire bikes in Melbourne CBD. Where do you buy them from? I am looking for a cheap helmet on which to attach a GoPro and thought a fwew bucks on one of these would be the way to go. I plan to be in Melbourne for a few days on Melbourne Cup business.

Or you could go to big-mart, k-w etc. I picked up a couple of basic helmets for under $10 a while ago and a better one, with adjustable retention a thingy on the back for about $20. Went away camping with bikes, but without helmets, kmart, problem solved now we have spares.

The Melbourne helmets are available from 7/11 shops near the hire bike racks.

Also a lot of time there are free helmets left on the bikes. The ones you purchase from the 7/11 are $7. The best place is the 7/11 in bourke st up near russell st they have thw most stock. Also the helmet locations are on the back of the display at the bike hire station

Vending machine in Sudden Crass station last time I looked. Right behind the bluebird station on Spencer St opposite Little Collins
