Hassle free route to Kinglake for JaycoHerald tour

any suggestions for a traffic hassle free(ish) route to ride up to Kinglake to see the final stage of the JaycoHerald tour next sunday - I'm happy on gravel and would ride north out of Melbourne to pick up something around Arthurs Creek / St Andrews or over from Whittlesea

If you like gravel/dirt roads then Bald Spur Rd is a tough but enjoyable gravel/dirt climb that takes you upto Kinglake, here is the Srava segment https://www.strava.com/segments/628612 . You can get onto it via Hewitts Rd just outside of St Andrews then turn onto Jacksons Rd then right at the fork in the road onto Blad Spur. From Whittlesea you can go via Humevale Rd which is an easy climb 7 k's @3.6% that's quiet then back onto the main road at the summit and then right onto Whittlesea to Kinglake Rd, this route is easier but outside of Humevale it's on main roads that will see traffic but the shoulders are pretty good.
