Postby Lukeyboy » Thu Nov 08, 2018 11:24 pm

Anyone here keen on doing the Gran Fondo with Henk Vogels up at the Sunshine Coast on November 25th?? 127km with 2k of elevation gain.

Route: https://www.relive.cc/view/1773000778

Despite what the website says you can enter as an individual. Use the code BBSFD1 and get $20 bucks off.

Unfortunately beyond the 18th I'm grounded as Mrs LDR is due with Mini LDR #2. That's a cracking course though, you'd want to make sure you have some low gearing for the steep pinches. The first photo is the Wall at Eudlo, I was down to 5kmh up there a couple of weeks ago. The climb up to Peachester is beautiful, and the downhill from Dulong Lookout to Nambour is fantastic fun. I haven't ridden the back side of Bald Knob, but have driven it a few times and it would be a good workout for sure.

3:02:41 from Landsborough-Brisbane, 2:23:16 from Brisbane-Landsborough. Brisbane-Ipswich might interest you too, only 1:06:00, and as you can't use the motorways it's about 45kms (actually further than it was in the 1930s!). Full list here- https://roadrecordaus.weebly.com/queensland.html
