G'day

From Bicycle Queensland:
EastBUGcampaigned to have bike lanes installed in Waminda Street, Morningside, which is a commuter bike link in Brisbane's eastern suburbs.

These bike lanes have been made usable by the removal of some on-street parking on Waminda Street.

EastBUG needs the support of all cyclists who ride through this area to make sure that the newly-installed bike lanes stay there. See EastBUG's campaigns page for more, or go straight to the online petition.
Regards
Andrew

Oh yes I remember that street from when I use to go to TAFE at Morningside.

The street is very dangerous for cyclists and certainly should not have parked cars along it. Cars fly along this street far exceeding the 60kmph limit. Cars are reluctant to pull up for people using the Zbra Crossing.

What should happen
cars be banned from Parking along the street.
install bike lanes (that don't allow the parking of cars)
Reduce the street speed from 60 to 40.
intergrate a long travel Speed bump into the Zebra Crossing.
