On ya bike energex

So, I'm sitting here wandering aimlessly around the internet when I hear the dogs outside going crazy. I look out the window and, to my surprise, see an Energex employee riding a bike going around to read the household meters

So are they trying to save money (normally they drive around in Suziki Jimny's) or are they trying to promote healthy staff??? I did notice one big omission from his uniform though - a HELMET. Sorry mate but that floppy broad brim hat isn't going to help if you come a cropper. I wonder if it was by choice or Energex didn't provide a helmet???

I made a comment about them being made to ride bikes and he replied, "yeah, they spend too much money on helicopters."

Energex does not read meters. Perhaps an AGL employee. Perhaps not. Definately not Energex though.

Okay, okay, can I come out of hiding now?
Come to think of it, we're with Origin. But still, thought was interesting anyway, at least to me...
But as far as I know, Energex are the ones who use helicopters to inspect the network.
