Bike road crossings (separate to ped crossings)

Are you supposed to dismount at bike crossings on roads (they are separately marked as a cycle crossing and have their own "go / don't go" lights in the form of a bike) or can you ride across? I'm a bit confused. I've only ever seen people ride across them, but I know at normal crossings (without the separate bike one) you have to dismount and I've seen people ride across them anyway so I can't use that as a guideline ...

I've only ever seen them at the SE Freeway crossing of O'Keefe St (I ride across, since everyone else does) and in the city (which was full of people anyway, so I got off). I always get off at non-bike-specific crossings.

Probably not, otherwise there would be no difference between a pedestrian crossing and a bike crossing (in some places there are separate crossings/buttons/lights for peds and cyclists)

Yeah that's what I'm referring to - this is a separate bike crossings (apart from peds).

TORUM ROAD RULES REG 1999 is applicable.

Bicycle crossing marked with a red/green bicycle symbol (like the pedestrians lights, but a nice bicycle symbol). YOU ARE LEGALLY REQUIRED TO RIDE ACROSS THE CROSSING! If you walk your bicycle across legally you are required (because you'd then be a pedestrian if you dismounted) to use the pedestrian side of the crossing.

Bicycle symbol? Ride across. Dismount? Use pedestrian side.

Contrary to common belief, pedestrian's are legally required to f**k off when they attempt to use the bicycle crossing.

(Also, dismounting of your bicycle is required when no bicycle crossing exists).
