I have a Campag toolkit and I know how to use it. It is a lot easier than using a lathe.

done this several times. Get a half round file, set aside an hour, music on and very slowly file away. Easy if you put the end of the steerer on the corner of your work bench so that it can pivot and you can file and turn the fork at the same time.

Does Campagnolo make a tool which will do the job more quickly and accurately than a file, or have I confused Dave with a poor choice of terms (words) in my original post?

Campag make a toolkit with cutters to accurately ream the seats for headset cups and crown races, facers for bottom brackets and headsets, taps for bottom brackets and virtually all the other tools necessary to properly prepare a classic frame for building. Just like this
