With all the roads that the our present Liberal Lord Mayor has been putting in here is an interesting fact about the Labor Candidate.The Labor guy at present rides a bike to and from work.

As someone that is very anti-car in the CBD and in urban environments I agree with you in saying that building more roads just means more cars. Every Study I have read confirms that a "BETTER" road network just leads to more congestion and more pollution.

As for the Hale Street Bridge that will ranks as one of the biggest wastes of public money ever . Its a set of lights at one end and a spegette bowl at the other. That really going to speed things up .

That all said I disagree about the Eastern Busway. I do believe that thing is needed. I have gone to Carindale Shopping center by bus before and it was not that pleasent.

I have ridden along the busways at night. I have been in a bus on the SE busway that was overtaking cars on the SE freeway.
The lights on the busway stations are like lights on railway stations they are never turned off. That said buses that service the busway run earlier and later then the general routes.
