Bicycle Hire - Surfers Paradise

Hi,
I'm heading up to Surfers for a week - staying near Broadbeach.
I'm wondering if anyone knows a good place to hire a road bike. I want to hit the road for a few kms whilst I'm there - keep the fitness up - nothing major.
Whilst I'm asking any good routes to take in some scenery?

I am uncertain about bike hire on the Gold coast.

I am not a Gold Coast local so i only have a vague idea of the good rides.
As far as i know popular cycling routes include Main beach (just north of Surfer's) to "The Spit" . (a ride along the beachside road past Seaworld, until the road ends where Nerang river flows into the sea)
More challenging rides include Nerang to Advancetown or Currumbin to Tomewin. (big hills)
Maybe some of the coast cyclists will see your post and come to your assistance.
Maybe ask at the bikestores.

If you don't mind a mountain bike or hybrid style (which is mostly the rentals anyway) try anaconda
They are outdoor specialists but even up here on the sunny coast they have quite a few rental bikes
Friends say you can follow the road and paths along the beaches and headlands all the way almost to the border
So I doubt you'll have trouble with scnenic routes

I go to Paradise Road Cycles a bit. I have never heard or seen any bike hiring going on but worth giving them a call anyway.

There is an Anaconda in Ashmore where a group ride leaves from every day. They also regroup at Lands End bridge, corner of Ocean St and Marine Pde.

The regroup happens about 5.45am. Not sure what time they meet at Anaconda.

Well I'm back from my weeks holiday in the sunny GC (Mermaid Beach).
I hired an Orbea Asphalt from Ian at Paradise Road Cycles for the week - a BIG thanks to Ian and the guys who pointed me in his direction.
Ian was very helpful and was ready to assist me in ensuring my ride was what I wanted and I had all the things I needed for the week.

The weather was awesome - so much so the family almost looked at extending the holiday a few more days!

The riding around GC and surrounding areas is very bike friendly - plenty of room on the roads and lots of roads with bike lanes. There's plenty of scenic riding around.

Absolutely enjoyed every km I rode. I mainly stuck to areas and roads I knew - anywhere from Mermaid to Paradise Point, The Spit (great road for some intervals), out to Nerang, Ashmore, Labrador etc.

Will be back there on wheels again sometime.

Sounds like a great holiday for the whole family.
The weather has been hard to beat for sure, too good to be true actually. Warmer than average.

I'm a bit wary of the coast, much of it is very busy but good on you managing to find some good routes.
