Ride the rangeFor those of you out Toowoomba way - looks like an intersting ride.

Re: Ride the rangeYes I am hoping to do the 100km ride - and only being new to cycling and not having done a 100km ride before I have some preparation in front of me.
Possibly the 60km might be closer to my abilities because I have done a few 60km length rides and the range climb will be a challenge. ![]()
Re: Ride the rangeYes it does look like an interesting ride but will you be allowed to xceed the speed limit on the descent of the Toowoomba range ?

Re: Ride the rangeHi
I did some googling and looked up the route on GPS websites and you dont actually come down the range on the normal road from Brisbane - you come down the back way so it will be faster and probably a bit rougher. ![]()
Re: Ride the range
sorry mate but nothing beats the descent of the Warrego HWY between Toowoomba and Withcott for speed and adrenalin. Recent Favorite rides:

Re: Ride the rangeHi
I'm not doubting that the Range descent on the Warrego Highway is good (mind you from Highfields isnt that bad either coming down Mt Kynoch) - but we won't go down the Warrego on that ride - we go the "back" way down. from the Ride the Range website: The descent offers varying terrain and stunning views over the countryside as you cycle down along Flagstone Creek Rd and then meander amongst the creek flats and country hills and valleys within the vegetable bowl of Queensland. This is a chance for you to make the most of the quiet roads and view the spectacular fruit and vegetable patchwork of the Lockyer valley and Gatton district before the non relenting challenge of the ascent back to Picnic Point in Toowoomba via Blanchview Rd. The event will be supported with three refreshment and comfort stops and a 'sag wagon' or bus if you strike trouble or need a rest! ![]()
