Or the head wind turns around when you do.

Today was too hot. And it's only going to get hotter.
This will be my first summer cycling. How am I going to survive?
You're going to melt along with your bike like a little blob of goo into the tarmac.jacob_T wrote: How am I going to survive?

maybe head west first? then at least you'd deserve the segments...ZepinAtor wrote:Wish me luck
I'm about to go out & break every Strava segment heading in a westerly direction & then crawl back against these 50km/hr winds. Should be a real hoot !
If you don't hear from me in 3 hours time I've been blown out to sea.
Heading east don't you mean?? With the winds today you could be blown clear across the bay to Stradie....ZepinAtor wrote:Wish me luck

OH yeh what a goose, I meant easterly direction.jasonc wrote:maybe head west first? then at least you'd deserve the segments...ZepinAtor wrote:Wish me luck

Me too, I kept looking at weather zone hoping to see the arrow pointing toward the SE, but it stubbornly decided to stay pointing east....bugger!jasonc wrote:so weatherzone got it wrong and i did not enjoy my ride home.
going down one hill it felt like i almost stopped when a gust whipped up

Anyhoo I'm back in one piece after playing dodge the sticks.
Had an unfortunate interruption to my segment attempt, but giving way to loose kids & dumb pedestrians comes before leader board glory in the interests of safety. Almost came to a complete stop just to make sure all the little devils were safe & out of harms way.
Interesting ride all the same pushing out 250+w at 22km/hr on the flat, then leaning over at about a 10 degree angle (off centre) around the next corner to keep it in a straight line.
BBwwwaaaahh I just had a look at the Strava file & took out 3 kom's. If it wasn't for those (law abiding pedestrians on the shared path) I could have claimed a couple more. (I'm not condoning speeding on a shared path BTW.)
I cannot believe how perfect the weather was this morning, even if i did have to wear a beanie under my helmet.Wazza wrote:Considering the weather for the last 2 days I thought I would put these up from this mornings tour.
Shhhh! No steel this morning, don't tell Wal.
Ooops, sorry about that.Comedian wrote: One of those was mine so I got an email.

The wind was gusting along at a nice pace as was I . If it wasn't for the other path users I could have destroyed that time, but in the interests of safety enough was enough.Comedian wrote:ZepinAtor wrote:Ooops, sorry about that.Comedian wrote: One of those was mine so I got an email.
That's just how we roll.
Did the breeze seem strong at the time? The weather bureau said it was up to 28kph... honking.
