I might be wrong but I haven't ridden on a completely dry road for 3 weeks before this morning.

I hear you brother. I still had slick tyre cx mud action happening, but gutters were dry.

Yeah but I was hungover like a MF and missed most of the day. Went for the ride through an electrical storm Sunday option, with flash flooding and landslides.

I was quite optimistic and after each wet ride I would clean down and relube the bike... Then I gave up. Haven't ridden at all since Sunday even though the muscles felt no soreness or fatigue from that day's "effort".

I've managed to get three days riding in this week. So I woke up with hope this morning only to see almost torrential rain occurring. My backyard neighbour's driveway is flooded. So I decided against riding. And then the sun came out <sigh>

Wazza made me ride in the rain this morning. And into a headwind. Then into a headwind plus rain. Sadist.

finished the 15hr strava challenge this morning. I'll leave it at that for you guys to work out how much wet stuff I've ridden in...

Nice effort Jason/Dan was too wet for me, I think I've worn my trainer out.

I finally gave in and decided to go to my LBS to buy some rollers. They've sold out. One of the guys working there is bringing his in for me to pick up tomorrow to try out.

I guess this is one way of getting the sun out, me getting rollers to beat the rain :-)

Got lucky this morning - attended the Chappy Challenge 65km ride in Boonah and the rain held off until almost 9am.

By which time most of the riders were back at the start and conversing over coffee :D

Admittedly we were all a bit damp because as soon as you get off the bike your shoes sink into the mud and wet.

And of course there was a lot of spray off the wet roads.

Hows this for an almost-dry road

and before the penultimate leg of the event - Ganthorpe Rd, which we were warned would be full of potholes and partially under water. Actually it was not too bad...
Image
The drive back to Brisbane northside was quite hairy - lots of rain, surface water and the usual numbskull driving

Hadn't heard about this ride Elantra but looks good. Might join in with you next year.

Finally fitted the mud guards to my fix gear and went for a ride today. It's been 10 days since I have ridden and I was going stir crazy.

Mud guards were great. No spray in the face, no spray on the feet and no skunk mark up the back. Got home wet but clean, not muddy from the pot holed farm tracks I rode.
