Re: Qld weather venting postsA cyclone is coming boys and girls. Time to buy that wet weather bike or a trainer and get as many kms while the sun is still sort of shining
Re: Qld weather venting posts

Re: Qld weather venting posts
And a rain jacket and some mud guards for your bike...then it's sure to stop raining In the meantime my commuter bike will see more action Lisa
Re: Qld weather venting postsMy shoe covers turned up today (fast delivery!!) so it will be nice and dry tomorrow morning.
Sad thing is, I now actually want it to rain so I can give them a try... ![]()
Re: Qld weather venting posts

Re: Qld weather venting postsCoottha was not too bad this morning...
Looking to the south-east, most of Brisbane except Yeronga area was under cloud or rain. Splendid example of a brisbane pothole here... These photos were taken at around 7am, later on in the day traffic congestion was severe, in part due to the weather conditions. Recent Favorite rides:

Re: Qld weather venting postsYou call that a pothole? This is a pot hole
![]() Is the oil slick still there on the run back down the hill on Mt Coot-tha?
Re: Qld weather venting posts
didn't notice the oil slick yesterday (similar time to elantra actually) but watch out for the pothole just before the 1km mark on the downhill.
Re: Qld weather venting postswoot! got a dryish riverloop in this morning. Glad too, as I put new bartape on last night and was rocking some new gloves. Old gloves and bartape had gotten too manky in all the rain we've been having.

Re: Qld weather venting posts
Well that's good to hear. It was in patches every 10-15m in the middle of the lane and at "50kph" you cover that distance very quickly ![]() ![]()
Re: Qld weather venting postsMade hay while the sun was shining and went out for a lunch time River loop. Was smashing it till just before the Tennis Centre, then hit a head wind that seemed to persist all the way to Dutton Park and took alot out of me. Slowed me up until I caught a bit of second wind after Dornoch Terrace Decent then came home strong.
Re: Qld weather venting posts
Were you doing 50km/hr or 50 mile/hr or something in between ? On another note, the closure of the old road just downhill from where your photos are taken is a major PITA. That was the much more pleasant descent route and very popular for training purposes by club riders. Recent Favorite rides:

Re: Qld weather venting posts
strava says I averaged 43km/h down the back
Re: Qld weather venting postsBetter weather this morning...will it last ?
descended via the TV stations (back way) so very careful (roads still wet) and totally within the speed limit. Recent Favorite rides:

Re: Qld weather venting postsI wish it wasn't so hot.
Elantra, I can't believe how wrong your brake lever set up is. Get a protractor, man! I ride 25s on the basis that they divide more easily into 100 than 23s.
Re: Qld weather venting posts
who needs a protractor when you've got a triple
Re: Qld weather venting postsjust in case anyone missed it.
