The wind was punishing coming back across the bridge from Redcliffe and along Brighton foreshore, then all the way back to the Gateway Bridge. When I turned on to Lomandra Drive I was flat out holding 20kph.

Hahahaha.

Yeah. The wind sure is blowing today. When I get home I might have to go for a ride. Might steal a few KOMs while hungover haha.

How on earth can you do a circuit and have the wind blowing in your face the entire way, then go in the opposite direction and the same thing happens?

I see you have ridden along the Kedron Brook Bikeway where there is no such thing as a tailwind along there.

I was riding along the water front at Wynnum this morning, enjoying my ride and then all of a sudden, bam, wind out of no where. Seriously I swear it was calm one second and blowing a gail the next. I slept in this morning, so left home at 6am, an hour later than normal.

I Copt the same storm just as i hit redcliffe... then had the joy of cycling into it back to Wynnum.. would have been nice having it behind me but alas that's the weather gods for you

I often wonder the same thing. Doing laps and the wind can be hitting you from the freeway (easterly) and further round you're heading into it coming from the river (westerly), all within about 350m. It's not just skewed perception. You can see debris blowing towards you at both points if it's howling. I expect local geography is funnelling it somehow....or I've been very bad.

Often people I ride with don't notice tailwind as it's not as obvious as a headwind.

I notice when I have a tailwind. I ride faster because I'm so eager for the punishment of the return ride.

Cracker of a morning for Brookfield, had some protection from the winds while doing the three fingers, got a few sprinkles heading back to the showgrounds after Savages Rd....one of Brisbanes hidden gems out there!
Worst part was the gusty winds almost blowing me sideways crossing the Goodwill Bridge!

Nice and sunny now out west but last 3 days have been wet. I managed to ride in between the rain but floodways were doing there job so had to back track a bit...also had to go through some roadworks which had turned to slush...wasnt nice, ended up sitting behind a road train and just sat in his wheel tracks....Its needed and with the little bit that we got last month its looking nice and green for a change

65mm at Meandarra Wednesday night, so that meant I drove out there for nothing as they can't load in the rain at Graincorp. Lucky I got a load back in Dalby as it would have been $400 worth of fuel wasted.

We've had 194mm at our place in the last few days. I've managed to keep up the commuting with only one soft lift home yesterday :)

This morning I had to make a detour due to a flooded road.

me too, but my commute is only 7km each way.

On another note, savage humidity early this morning, and then was 30 degrees by 10am
