Bribie Island for 3 days - which Bike should I take?

I will be staying on Bribie Island at Worim on the beach for the weekend, and can't decide which bike to bring - the road bike, or the MTB. Not so keen to take the dually onto the sand (Carbon Blur XC with XT), but if there are firetrails everywhere, then that would be fun. If its just all sand, then I will take the road bike instead.

What would you take??

G'day

I'd suggest the road bike, but can't help with specifics. I think Foo On Patrol lives near there. PM himif you don't hear back. The bush near there is notorious for retaining moisture and is popular with four wheel drives.

Enjoy your stay.

There is a Mountain Bike Orienteering event on at Ningi in April, so presumably there is some decent fire-trail, bush bashing areas to take the MTB into. I'm not sure where abouts this is on as they do not let you know the start points until a couple days before the event. Ningi is before you get to the bridge, BTW. If riding on Bribie only, take the roadie. It's flat as a pancake so you wont need you compact

Thanks for the tips, I couldn't decide in the end, so brought both! Not the my wife will be letting me do much riding anyway, but at least I have the option (also brought the tag along to keep the 5yo happy!)

Hi Crittski, sorry I didn't check this section earlier!

You can get a good 30k circuit on the Island quite easily, but the tracks for MTB would be to damp , at the moment. You can ride pretty much from Banksia Beach to Woorim on cycle paths, so you cold ride with the Missis and bub for enjoyment.
