Is this a new training technique or just funny as.Had a good chuckle today on my way around the city, saw a guy absolutely hammering along the cycleway, sweating with mouth wide open gasping for breath and doing only about 30kph. He was on one of those city cycles
Maybe he was late returning the bike within the 30 mins time allowed. cheers Dave ![]()
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.591kg CityCycle equals resistance training. 591kg CityCycle up Mt Cootha equals Jens status
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.
I do want to try this some time. Anyone know what the lowest gearing is (gear inches?). Asides from that, I don't really have any use for a subscription though, so it might be a somewhat expensive exercise.
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.Gawd.. he must have been spinning... or perhaps he was racing to get it back within the half hour?
Once you can climb hills on a bike it's all downhill.
Hopefully I'll know what that's like..... one day. ![]()
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.
It 'feels' it's around 25-30 gear-inches but I haven't counted the teeth or looked up the ratios on the 3-speed hub to confirm. Coot-tha would be do-able on a CityCycle for sure - good exercise too. None of this fancy superlight bike nonsense My bike is heavier than your bike.
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.
Just imagine how fast you could go coming down ! P.S. i saw a bloke on one in the city tonight. It looked like hard yakka going up Turbo street on one of those. Recent Favorite rides:
December -TUMBULGUM to TOMEWIN by some obscure route-can't wait to do it again !!!
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.
At least the upright position will keep your speed down! My bike is heavier than your bike.
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.Now there is challenge! A race up Coot-tha on the City Cycles. Bragging rights is the reward!
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.
Whoever makes it back to the docking station within 30 minutes wins My bike is heavier than your bike.
Re: Is this a new training technique or just funny as.I dare some smart arse vandal to print up a parody of the 'Citycycle' logo, alter it to read 'Shittycycle' then slap them over the existing stickers in the darkness of night and see how long it takes someone to realise
